  • 3. Secondary hybridization, symmetry of molecules.
  • 4. Hydrogen, hydrogen bridges, hydrides. Van der Waals interactions and rare gases.
  • 5. Oxygen, Lewis theory of acids and bases. Acidity of oxides. Ozone. Peroxides.
  • 6. Halogens, stability of oxidation states, electrode potentials.
  • 7. Chalcogenes, from nonmetals to metals. Homo- and heterocatenation.
  • 8. Nitrogen and phosphor.
  • 9. Carbon, silicon, boron. Architecture of single, multiple and bridge bonds.
  • 10. Bonds in solid substances and their properties. Metals, semiconductors, insulants.
  • 11. Fundamentals of crystal chemistry. Structural types.
  • 12. Coordination compounds, geometric and optical isomers, symmetry.
  • 13. Coordination bond and properties of coordination compounds. Organometalic compounds.
  • 14. Effect of inert pair and lanthanoid contraction on chemical properties of metals.
